Massage Services / Techniques

Each session is all customized base on your needs and goals utilizing all techniques above.  This unique combination therapy will help your body to recover quickly and going back to the point you can compete, train, and work… or even just going back to your daily routines with less tension and pain…

Active Release Technique (A.R.T.)

A.R.T. is considered as the gold standard of soft tissue manipulation – it is basically a muscle treatment/therapy.  One of my clients described it as “being stretched and massaged at the same time.” Every muscle has a certain way of moving to ensure our body works the way we want it to. Through A.R.T., we move the joints/muscles in a certain direction to loosen them, making this therapy completely different from a massage, which is all about giving pressure to tight muscles.

Active Isolated Stretching (Aaron Mattes Method)

This stretching method targets a single muscle instead of a group of muscles.  For example, the hamstring (back side of your thigh) consists of three major muscles: Biceps Femoris, Semitendinousis and Semimembernosis.  With this stretching technique, we’ll work on each one separately. Also, this technique is safe to do at any time, even when muscles are cold and stiff. This is because the technique is not the traditional way of stretching, where you hold your muscles for about twenty to thirty seconds. Instead, you hold your muscles for only three to five seconds and incorporate breathing, bringing more oxygen and blood flow to the muscles.

Therapeutic Massage

If you have never received any type of therapy, your body’s muscles are most likely tight and knotted. Receiving a therapeutic massage will loosen up the muscles that need to be treated, providing instant relief.  Working around the spinal muscles, which are connected to the whole body, and then major muscles such as the buttocks and shoulders, will prepare your body to receive A.R.T. treatment.

Kinesio Taping

I have been trained by Dr. Masa, one of the top instructors of Kinesio Taping Association, who has a clinic in Seattle and used to be an official chiropractic doctor/kinesio taping provider for Seattle Mariners medical team.  Kinesio Taping has multiple benefits: it can provide support for your muscles, promoting or inhibiting movements; encourage lymphatic drainage, avoiding and/or decreasing major bruising and/or swelling); free fascia movement, which can cause instant pain relief, and more. Combining Kinesio Taping with A.R.T. can work very well.
